Eat to Live: Day 18
Energy: Up!
Mood: Happy
Health: Feeling good.
Hunger: I'm doing well.
Craving: Biscuits and Gravy and Bacon ...oh that sounds so good. But my breakfast of fruit and nuts filled me up and is so much better for me.
Big Cheat Confessions: Celebrated Thanksgiving with the Senior Adults at church last night... I did okay on portions, but then I ate a big bowl of homemade mac & cheese. Um, delicious!! Totally worth the calories. :)
Current weight: 169.0 lbs.
Total Lost: 7.8 lbs - I am really trying to hit 10 lbs. by 3 weeks... that will be next Tuesday, so I am going to try to exercise this weekend in addition to eating healthy. Wish me luck!
I got a little sad the other day, I looked back at the posts I did on the Spring Fittness Challenge a few years back. I got down to 138... and was still trying to lose weight. I would be so happy to be at that weight again. Hopefully it won't be too long.

At 10 pounds lost, I'll post a before picture from this summer and a current pic.

Lost this week: 2 lbs
Total lost: 6 lbs

Spring Fitness Challenge- Monday Weigh-In

Week 2- Weigh In
Weight: 140 lbs
Lost this week: 2 lbs
Total lost: 4 lbs
% lost: 2.78%
Goal: 125 (starting to feel this is a lofty goal)

Pleased that I lost, wish it was more. Just gonna keep moving forward. If I only lose 2 lbs a week for the whole challenge. That will still be 16 lbs. That would be better than where I was.

Duck, Duck, Goose- Lunges
Yesterday I was determined. Determined to get in some exercise. I've been tracking my calories on Fittnes.com and now I KNOW that I've got to exercise to get this weight off. So... I got the kids down for a nap, and got my workout gear on. Loaded up my little basket with my phones and baby moniter, since our treadmill is upstairs in our guest room. I even printed off a treadmill workout off the fitness website.
Got upstairs, went to open the door and it was LOCKED!

I remembered then that my hubby told me a few days ago that he had locked himself out of the guest room. Ugh! All that motivation and nothing to show for it. I was frustrated.

But my hubby decided to mow the lawn last night and so the kids and I went out to play too. I still had my work-out gear on, so... I ran around the yard with the kids, pulled them in the wagon, swept the porch, raced the dog up and down the yard trying to get a little bit of exercise in. Then I got the best idea, "Duck, Duck, Goose Lunges".
Duck...Duck...Duck...
It was so much fun for Ella and so much work for me. Here's the idea, You do walking lunges saying, "Duck" everytime you go down into a lunge, then after a few, you yell "Goose" and chase down your kiddo and tickle them. Then repeat. We did our "Duck, Duck, Goose Lunges" game for quite awhile. My husband told me that I looked crazy, but I don't care. I had him go in and grab the camera so I could share. It must have worked pretty good, because my booty and thighs are SORE today!
GOOSE!!!!!
And the best news is that after we came in, my wonderful husband got the door unlocked using a CD, I told him that he was MacGyver. He agreed.

Birthday Weekend & Spring Fitness Challenge -Weigh In
We're doing a 2 for 1 blog today.
Sharing pics from celebrating my Mom's Birthday and also our Fitness Challenge Info.
Mom's Birthday Weekend
I went to Kansas to celebrate my mom's birthday this weekend. I ate way too much, but had a great time.
Here's the shirt I made for my mom, along with a cute little fabric headband made out of the black and white polka dot fabric. I liked how it turned out. I may make Ella and I some matching flower t-shirts for Mother's Day. We'll see....
OK, now to the Weigh -In Info:
Weight: 142 lbs (down 2 lbs)
% lost: 1.39%
Well, not an impressive start, but at least I didn't gain. I was so afraid I was gonna gain because honestly I didn't exercise one day last week AND we celebrated my mom's birthday...and I had two pieces of German Chocolate Cake, which was delicious by the way.
I will celebrate the 2 lbs and move forward. Making a renewed effort to get some movement into my day.

READY, SET, GO....
Well, I'm off and...not running... yet. I totally planned on doing at least a 20 minute workout after the kiddos went to bed. But alas, sweet Ella had other plans. We had a BIG Thunder Storm! Thunder Storms and my daughter do not mix well. So I spent a better part of the evening trying to get her to sleep amidst the Thunder. I eventually got her to sleep... and apparently myself to sleep in her bed. My hubby just woke me up to get into our bed. I decided to check my email real quick before bed. That was 30 minutes ago. I figured I'd go ahead and update you on my wonderful progress *note read with sarcasm. :)
Tomorrow is Another Day!!
I won't let my slow start get me down. I'm ready to get going tomorrow fresh!

THE SPRING FITNESS CHALLENGE
Time to Get Fit

So my hubby has lost about 20 pounds over the last couple months. I thought that would motivate me, but it didn't. It just meant more ice cream for me. :) I'd like to blame my weight gain on being a momma, but I weighed 142 at my first prenatal visit with my oldest, so I can't really blame it on the babies. I was chubby BEFORE I even had the kiddos. But summer is coming and I don't want to feel like a big chubbo at the pool. So...I've decided to join "A Feathered Nest's" Spring Fittness Challenge. You can join too...and there's a prize for the most percentage of weight lost. The more people who join the bigger the prize money so go check it out.
OK so here's the cold hard facts-
Height: 5'2" (yes, I know, I'm super short)
Weight: 144 pounds (that's what my scale says, I know for a fact that my scale weighs you about 5 lbs lighter....but for the purposes of actual pounds lost, we'll just go with the number it says).
Before Picture- Taken March 6th:

My TARGET weight according to this site is 125. Honestly, that's about right for me. I think I weighed around 120 in High School, so 125 would be awesome. I'd feel like a total skinny minnie.
So off to go eat some carrots and take a jog on the treadmill. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
